Description
The Black Reef Leatherjacket, Pervagor melanocephalus, is a small, attractive filefish characterized by its dark body, prominent yellow eye, and often a white-tipped tail. Native to the Indo-Pacific coral reefs, it primarily feeds on algae and small invertebrates. While generally considered semi-aggressive, it can be territorial and may nip at certain corals or sessile invertebrates in a reef aquarium.
