Description

The Black Gudgeon (*Gobio nigrescens*) is a small, peaceful, bottom-dwelling freshwater fish native to Central Asia. It is characterized by its elongated body, mottled coloration, and barbels around its mouth, which it uses to forage for food. This species was first recorded in Uzbekistan in 2020, having previously been known from Afghanistan, Iran, and Turkmenistan.
