Betta splendens, commonly known as the Siamese Fighting Fish, is a popular freshwater fish renowned for its vibrant colors and elaborate fins, especially in males. While males are highly territorial and aggressive towards each other, they can often be kept with peaceful, non-fin-nipping community fish in appropriately sized tanks. They are labyrinth fish, meaning they can breathe atmospheric air.
