Description
Betta splendens, commonly known as the Siamese Fighting Fish, is a popular freshwater fish renowned for its vibrant colors and elaborate finnage, particularly in males. While males are highly territorial and aggressive towards other males, they can often be housed with peaceful, non-fin-nipping community fish in appropriately sized tanks. They are labyrinth fish, meaning they can breathe atmospheric air, allowing them to survive in low-oxygen environments.
