Description
The Atlantic Sergeant Major is a hardy and active saltwater fish recognized by its distinctive pattern of five black vertical bands on a silvery-white to yellowish body. It is a common sight in shallow reef environments throughout the Western Atlantic. While generally considered semi-aggressive, it can be territorial, especially during breeding, and may harass smaller or more docile tankmates.
