Description

Anthias are vibrant, schooling marine fish known for their striking colors and active swimming. They are planktivores, often found in large groups on coral reefs, with many species exhibiting sexual dimorphism and protogynous hermaphroditism. The Plectranthias genus, often called Longfin Perch or Basslets, are typically smaller, more solitary Anthias found in deeper reef environments.
