Description
The Angelshark (Squatina squatina) is a critically endangered bottom-dwelling shark known for its flattened body and excellent camouflage, allowing it to ambush prey from the sandy seafloor. Found in the Northeast Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea, it is a specialized predator. Due to its large size and conservation status, it is exclusively found in public aquariums for research and breeding programs.
