Description
The Alligator Gar is one of the largest freshwater fish in North America, known for its distinctive alligator-like snout and rows of sharp teeth. These ancient, predatory fish are ambush hunters, primarily feeding on other fish. Due to their immense size and specialized care requirements, they are only suitable for expert aquarists with access to very large, dedicated systems or ponds.
